The Journey Begins
My car was wrecked on June 25, 2009. I got disoriented in Manhattan Beach and took a wrong turn. Next thing I knew, my car was a total loss. My fault, too. I was exhausted from a day of hard work and wasn't paying attention. Financially, things were so bad that that day I had cleaned a friend's house to earn some money for groceries. Thank God there were no physical injuries from the crash, but, my heart was broken. I loved that car. The first new car I'd bought myself for a very long time. I kept it clean and pretty. It was pristine and lodged in a garage near my apartment in Venice Beach. Truth is, I was so afraid that something would happen to it, I hardly ever drove it. Just kept it safe in that garage. Luckily, my insurance covered the loss, but I haven't been able to replace the car because of my limited finances. So, I've actually been doing the unthinkable. I've been living in Los Angeles WITHOUT a car for almost a year.
